Fissures
"a long, narrow opening or line of breakage made by cracking or splitting, especially in rock or earth."
Fissures are sculptural objects generated through the curing process of resin and bitumen substances. The formal typology of the sculpture is influenced by the chemical reaction of raw materials, as the materials begin to cure and react with one another high temperatures of energy is exerted generating cracks and fractures throughout the object. The aim of this reaction is to create dual conditions of light receptiveness, in which an object displays conditions of opaqueness and translucency as a result of a single reaction.
